Ethereum Gas Tracker

Track current Ethereum mainnet gas fees using recent EIP-1559 fee history, including base fee and low, standard and fast fee estimates.

Standard Gas

Updated: Fetching…

Block: — · Source: Ethereum RPC

Low

Priority fee: …

A lower-fee estimate based on the 10th percentile of recent priority fees.

Standard

Priority fee: …

A balanced estimate based on the 50th percentile of recent priority fees.

Fast

Priority fee: …

A higher-fee estimate based on the 90th percentile of recent priority fees.

Current Network Fee Context

Next-block base fee

Recent gas usage

The base fee is determined by Ethereum’s EIP-1559 mechanism. Priority fees are added by users to incentivize inclusion. Recent gas usage is the average block gas-use ratio across the sampled blocks.

Estimated Transaction Cost

ETH transfer

Approx. 21,000 gas units

…

ERC-20 transfer

Approx. 65,000 gas units

…

Typical token swap

Approx. 150,000 gas units

…

These are illustrative estimates. Actual gas used depends on the transaction and smart contract.

How TCP Calculates Ethereum Gas

TCP requests Ethereum’s eth_feeHistory data for the latest 20 blocks. The displayed base fee uses the next-block base-fee estimate. Low, standard and fast estimates add the median 10th, 50th and 90th percentile priority fees from that sample to the base fee.

What Is Gwei?

Gwei is a common unit for quoting Ethereum gas prices. One Gwei equals one billion wei, or 0.000000001 ETH. A transaction’s network fee is approximately its gas price multiplied by the amount of gas the transaction actually consumes.

Why Ethereum Gas Fees Change

Ethereum’s base fee adjusts with block demand. When blocks are consistently more heavily used, the base fee can rise; when demand falls, it can decline. Priority fees can also vary as users compete for faster inclusion.

Source & Reliability

TCP reads Ethereum mainnet through public JSON-RPC providers, using PublicNode as the primary endpoint and Cloudflare as a fallback. If reliable live fee-history data cannot be retrieved, the tracker shows an unavailable state rather than inventing or relabeling stale values.
